When I mention meditation does it make you go ‘ugh?’ There are lots of percentages out there about the benefits of regularly taking the time to
meditate – 10 days of meditation is said to reduce stress levels by 12%, and 4 weeks of meditation is said to increase mental focus by 14%

So the facts are there, meditation is good for you but it can be really difficult to do the sitting on the ground, crossed legged, eyes closed, empty your mind kind of thing. And here’s the thing, you don’t have to do that. Here’s a simple meditation that you can try when you’re out and about, either whilst walking, or find somewhere to sit (it doesn’t have to be cross legged, you could be on a bench!) Try to find somewhere that’s reasonably quiet though and if you can be surrounded by a bit of greenery that’s good

To begin take a few deep breaths to settle yourself then…

focus for a few minutes on one thing that you can see

then switch your attention to something that you can hear and try to focus

solely on that for a few minutes

then something you can smell

And that’s it! It might take you 10 minutes, or more, or less. Give it a try and let me know how you get on. Sam x
