Hi, I’m Sam, the founder of Bliss Therapies…

Originally a therapy based business with products being created as a sideline for myself, friends and massage customers the brand became my full time passion in July 2022.

In 2021, like many others, I was left overnight with no income when the pandemic lockdown began and I was unable to give treatments. I hastily set up an Etsy shop and began making more products, including candles, and fine tuning those that already existed. The products were well received and I loved making them. Since I was 8 years old, this is what I have wanted to do.

I’m a qualified clinical aromatherapist and remedial massage therapist and also have qualifications in Thai massage, Indian Head Massage, yoga and other complementary therapies. Each product that Bliss creates comes from a need…… when I was pregnant I formulated products to ease my nausea and fatigue, when I had my baby I created products to calm and made a balm to heal his eczema when I couldn’t find anything effective yet gentle enough already on the market.

My journey to Bliss Therapies has been varied; after initially qualifying and working in Huddersfield I spent several years as a training manager for premium skincare brands and was incredibly lucky to spend my time travelling to top spas in the UK and Europe. I then decided to take a career break to further my training at source; studying Ayurveda in Sri Lanka, Indian head massage in India and Thai Massage at a temple in Thailand. This career break resulted in me living in Thailand for almost 6 years, selling most of my possessions and setting up an elephant conservation project to give tourists an alternative to riding on elephants backs. During my time in Thailand I lived very simply in a wooden hut in a tiny village with the mahouts and their elephants, completely immersing myself in Thai life and culture, and food!!
